Adesso Hires Tilion ex-CEO

Shields joins wireless app specialist as chief operating officer

Lexington, MA December 20, 2002 Wireless applications specialist Adesso Systems today said that it had hired ex-Tilion CEO Peter Shields to be its chief operating officer (COO).

Shields joins Adesso, formerly known as ThinkingBytes, just as the company is debuting its new name and as it prepares to roll out its new platform for wireless applications in early 2003. The new COO will work with Adesso CEO John Landry on company strategy and will be responsible for managing the company's daily operations and ensuring that the company executes on its strategy.

Previously Shields was CEO at Tilion, a provider of supply chain event management software solutions that merged with Viewlocity and SynQuest in September. Shields had joined Tilion in March as acting CEO, replacing Chris Stone, who re-joined software company Novell at the end of February.

Shields formerly was president and CEO of Formation Systems, a provider of product lifecycle management software solutions for the process industries. Dan Keelan replaced Shields at Formation at the end of January. Shields also held various sales positions at Aspen Technology, including senior vice president of worldwide sales

Adesso says its platform allows companies to develop and deploy distributed applications for end-user devices, including personal computers, laptops, tablets and handheld devices, enabling small teams, departments or entire affiliates to connect to and share enterprisewide data with or without a continuous connection to the Internet.

"Adesso Systems has a compelling vision for the needs of the real-time enterprise, and has created a very innovative application development platform that offers companies clear benefits and savings by getting critical information in the hands of the right employees at the right time," said Shields in a statement.
