i:FAO speeds booking process, links to travel sites, expands hotel content in version 2

Dallas January 8, 2003 Travel e-procurement specialist i:FAO this week released the latest version of its flagship solution for the online booking and management of business travel.

Frankfurt, Germany-based i:FAO said version 2 of its citric v7 solution, which has already been put into production for several i:FAO customers, combines all the benefits of online applications with an open, enterprise-class infrastructure.

New features in version 2 include a faster booking process for air and hotel, access to more than 100 travel Web sites to check for air and hotel availability, an improved multi-fare display for airline booking and expanded content on hotel properties.

For back-end efficiencies, the solution's Perfect PNR feature provides a range of options to generate bookings in compliance with the requirements of fulfillment centers for touch-free handling and reduced operational cost.

In addition, version 2 has been upgraded to improve integration with other expense software packages, as well as with SAP. The solution has a built-in multilevel approval workflow; supports bookings via Palm, Clie, Blackberry and PocketPC devices; and offers multi-language capabilities and an unlimited number of different travel policies.

The provider offers services to integrate the solution into the look and feel of a corporation's own portal. An enterprise edition, available for an additional monthly fee, offers operational, transactional and analytical tools intended to help companies manage and reduce business travel cost, according to i:FAO.
