Tempe, AZ January 14, 2003 New partnerships blossomed this week in the supply chain space, as Made2Manage Systems and Infoscan Software Systems joined forces to deliver a warehouse management system (WMS) to small and midsize manufacturers, while Transaxiom and INTTRA allied to provide a single point of entry to the logistics supply chain.
Indianapolis-based Made2Manage, a provider of enterprise software for small and midsize manufacturers, and Minneapolis-based Infoscan, a provider of warehouse management and data collection software for warehouse and distribution-based organizations, have formed a partnership that will unite the Infoscan Warehouse Management System with the Made2Manage Enterprise Business System.
The partnership is intended to provide the small and midsize manufacturing market with an integrated, comprehensive supply chain management solution beefed up with Infoscan's WMS at a lower cost than solutions offered by larger technology vendors.
The providers say that the joint offering targets customers with both manufacturing and distribution requirements, particularly in industries such as sporting goods, consumer items, store fixtures, industrial hardware and printing/publishing materials. Made2Manage's solution supports warehouse planning, layout, tracking, replenishment, transaction support and logistics.
Under the terms of the agreement, Infoscan's wireless warehouse management solution will be marketed to Made2Manage Systems' customer base of some 1,600 small and midsize manufacturing operations throughout North America.
"Effective warehouse resource planning offers dynamic savings in labor, inventory, management and customer service," said Dave Wortman, CEO of Made2Manage Systems. "The integrated solution formed by the Infoscan partnership will help our customers achieve their operational and business goals."
Meanwhile, Parsippany, N.J.-based INTTRA, a provider of B2B ocean freight transportation e-business services, has integrated its INTTRA-LINK solution with the axsFreight application from Transaxiom, a Denmark-based solution provider to the freight-forwarding and logistics industry.
The joint offering adds capabilities such as multiple ocean carrier booking, shipping instructions and the integration of global track and trace for INTTRA carrier shipments directly into the Transaxiom multi-modal transportation software solution.
Frank Holmstrup, CEOof Transaxiom, said that coupling the two solutions will offer a single point of entry for global supply chain management to Transaxiom's customer base of approximately 10,000 forwarders and consignees worldwide.
"Today, axsFreight users can benefit from 'behind the scenes' connectivity to INTTRA's transportation network of leading ocean carriers," said Henrik Dam Larsen, general manager for INTTRA in Europe. "I anticipate that joint INTTRA/Transaxiom customers will benefit from streamlining booking and shipping instructions across multiple carriers as well as providing direct visibility to ocean going cargo to trading partners around the globe."
