Cincinnati, OH, and Lawrenceville, NJ January 17, 2003 UCCnet, the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry's item registration and data synchronization standards body, announced VeriSync Trade Solutions has entered the "Partners In Sync" Alliance Program as a Certified and Preferred member.
According to the organization, Partners In Sync enables alliance partners to provide integrated collaborative commerce solutions to the UCCnet community. The program certifies partners, such as VeriSync, to provide knowledge, resources and tools to UCCnet subscribers to implement item registry and data synchronization.
VeriSync's President and Chief Operating Officer Paul Price said the supplier's integrated software package addresses the business challenges of promotion/deduction management, data integrity and category management. "In today's business environment, it is critical for trading partners in the CPG industry to have an open, cost-effective community for information exchange. We are pleased to have further solidified our relationship with UCCnet, and we are excited to collaborate with UCCnet to deliver business benefits to our clients."
VeriSync is built on three software suppliers that focus specifically on solutions for the CPG industry. They include Franklin, Mass.-based Integrated Software Systems (ISS) (which provides e-catalog, UCCnet connectivity and product management tools); Montreal-based MEI, (which specializes in promotion and deduction management systems); and Greenwich, Conn.-based Sudden Impact (which has developed an automated category management software tool).
VeriSync cited a recent study completed by A.T. Kearney in which it is estimated that $40 billion, or 3.5 percent, of total sales are lost each year due to supply chain information inefficiencies. To alleviate some of these costly errors, the combined companies said UCCnet offers registration and synchronization of item information, such as weight and dimensions, by providing a repository for standardized item, location and trading partner data.
VeriSync is UCCnet certified for its ItemLync integration solution for UCCnet Foundation Services 2.0. The ItemLync tool allows VeriSync clients to synchronize their data throughout the supply chain.
