Distro Streamlines Customer Service

Taps DigiTerra solution to give clients visibility into supply chain information

Indianapolis February 11, 2003 Distibrution center operator Distro has tapped a solution from provider DigiTerra to create an online customer service network as a way of streamlining customer care requests and improving client satisfaction.

Distro operates distribution centers (DCs) for wholesaler Winholesale and parent company Primus Inc.. Distro is responsible for supplying goods and materials to the Win Group of Companies, a national alliance of more than 400 wholesale distributors of plumbing, electrical and other industrial supplies.

Using DigiTerra's SolidVision solution, Distro is connecting its customers to its own supply chain systems via the Web, allowing the customers to view Distro pricing, availability, purchase order status and even access the UPS tracking numbers associated with their order.

DigiTerra describes SolidVision as a supply chain information portal solution that is designed to help warehouse operations, customer service support, customer self-service and supply chain event management by providing universal access to key enterprise data. Paul Donarum, Distro president, said SolidVision is an important tool in helping the company achieve its goal of lowering transaction costs and improving customer satisfaction.

"The solution has dramatically reduced the number of calls into customer service by enabling any of the 3,000-plus employees that work at one of the Win Group of Companies to check their order status anytime, any place, anywhere," Donarum said. "Providing secure, universal access to key data without going through customer service representatives has resulted in Distro being able to provide better, faster service to our customers."

"Distro understands that putting accurate, real-time information in its customers' hand empowers them to make informed decisions and makes for a satisfied customer," said Mike Mayoras, DigiTerra's president.
