Releases latest version of sourcing platform, customer win, Customer Advisory Council

Cambridge, MA Ñ March 4, 2003 Ñ Enterprise software provider Frictionless Commerce this week announced the release of its latest sourcing platform, a customer win and the appointment of seven customer representatives to its new Customer Advisory Council

First, the provider said its new Frictionless Sourcing 3.0 has incorporated several platform enhancements for strategic sourcing and supplier management including contract spend tracking, legal contract general and a supplier management portal. Also, it has added five new modules: Workflow, Demand Aggregation, Bill of Material, RFQuick and Spend Analysis.

Next, Frictionless announced that Alticor Inc., the parent company of Amway Corp. and Access Business Group, has selected Frictionless Sourcing software to support its total sourcing efforts.

Currently undergoing an organization transformation process, Alticor said it selected Frictionless Sourcing as its cornerstone technology for e-sourcing. In order to link all aspects of the supply chain, Frictionless Sourcing will be integrated with AlticorÕs enterprise systems from Manugistics and J.D. Edwards.

Among the companyÕs sourcing goals are COGS (cost of goods sold) cost savings, reduced cycle times and enhanced supplier management. Alticor also said it would use Frictionless Sourcing to store and access enterprise expenditure data, automate manual sourcing processes and improve supplier management capabilities.

Deloitte Consulting, a member of the Frictionless strategic alliance program, will manage the deployment of Alticor's services and consulting needs.

Finally, Frictionless said it appointed seven customer representatives to the User Group Steering Committee and the inaugural meeting of its Customer Advisory Council. Hosted by a financial services client in New York City, the meeting is a closed door, invitation-only event for customers to see the new Frictionless Sourcing 3.0 and to prioritize requirements for the next release.

The Customer Advisory Council is an assemblage of senior level decision-makers from FrictionlessÕ Global 2,500 customers that steer Frictionless Commerce's product development and feature prioritization. Frictionless said the Customer Advisory Council helps ensure that Frictionless Sourcing continues to meet pragmatic business needs.
