Atlanta Ñ March 10, 2003 Ñ Datatrac Corp., a software developer and wireless communications solutions provider, today launched Agent Exchange, a Web-based shipment tracking and tracing solution for cartage agents.
According to the provider, the software enables cartage agents to connect to Datatrac's eTrac Network, an independent information exchange network to provide real-time visibility and settlement services for the independent expedited transportation industry.
Additionally, the tool was developed as a direct result of input received from cartage agents and freight forwarders. Datatrac said it is designed to provide cartage agents with the ability to exchange shipping information in real time with freight forwarders.
Agent Exchange requires no significant changes to a cartage agent's current operations, although it does require an Internet browser and a subscriber registration for cartage agents to be able to enter and track orders online, search for shipment details and history, update forwarders with shipment status information, and review and accept or decline shipment requests.
Datatrac CEO, Craig Lotz, said, "Agent Exchange is a gateway through which cartage agents can adapt to increasing expectations by freight forwarders for complete visibility throughout the order and shipment tracking process."
There is no purchase cost or installation fee associated with Agent Exchange, and it offers 30 days of unlimited support on the initial set up. Users are charged a transaction fee based on usage only. The software is available for immediate use.
