Santa Clara, CA Ñ March 11, 2003 Ñ The American Heart Association has selected Noosh Inc., a provider of collaborative e-business software, to provide a Web-based solution for managing production workflow and procurement of printed and interactive media materials. The American Heart Association (AHA) is the nation's largest voluntary health agency fighting heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
The AHA said it would use Noosh 5 to automate workflow among personnel involved in the multiple stages of the print and media product lifecycle, from concept to completion. This includes internal and external teams involved in the creation, design, procurement, printing, warehousing and shipping of materials.
"The more we can improve efficiencies and lower expenses the better," said Kathy Bridwell, Purchasing Manager at the AHA. "Our goal is to better streamline, standardize and manage our project management and procurement processes."
The American Heart Association will use the solutionÕs customization capabilities to meet their data capture, terminology, procurement and workflow requirements. For instance, Noosh 5Õs customizable specification forms will capture the information desired by AHA buyers and suppliers for various types of print and media products.
Then the AHA can implement a consistent naming and numbering convention to improve coordination between design, copy, production, management, purchasing and warehousing.
Next, the solution will replace manual-based ordering processes with electronic processes to an extended supply base of printers and a print outsourcing agency.
Finally, the AHA will use Noosh 5's scheduling and task management tools to help keep the organization's yearly production of 1000+ projects on time and on budget.
