Dallas — May 6, 2003 — Information technology consultancy Experio Solutions has been redubbed Hitachi Consulting in what the Hitachi division is calling a move into the next stage of fulfilling its parent company's vision of being a $1 billion global provider of business and IT consulting services.
Founded in 2000 and based in Dallas, Experio said it has grown significantly, in part through an aggressive acquisition strategy sponsored by Hitachi, expanding its geographic coverage to the entire United States, deepening its technical and business capabilities and broadening its vertical industry expertise.
"We have successfully integrated the five businesses that made up Experio Solutions and moved toward consistent profitability," said Michael Travis, president and chief operating officer of the newly renamed Hitachi Consulting.
Hitachi Consulting's clients include such companies as AlignMark, Aviall, ONEOK, Princess Cruises, Toyota and Viking Range Corp.
Moving forward, Hitachi Consulting said it would offer an expanded portfolio of solutions and services, to include strategy and business improvement solutions, customer solutions, supply chain solutions, technology solutions and enterprise solutions.
The consultancy's target customers include Fortune 2000 companies in the consumer goods, energy, high tech, services and manufacturing industries.
Larry DeBoever, executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Hitachi Consulting, said the consultancy is working more closely with other Hitachi Group companies in the United States and Japan.
Isao Ono, senior group executive of Hitachi's Information Business Group and the chairman of the board for Hitachi Consulting, said that the consultancy's skills are essential to accomplish Hitachi's business strategy to be a "best solution partner."
"For Hitachi, enhancing our business and IT services capabilities is both strategic and indispensable in our plans to address emerging markets and opportunities," said Ono.
