Vitria Provides Business Integration Platform for The Relizon Company's Customer Portal

Vitria's BusinessWare Enables More than 1.5 Million Transactions per Month to be Processed through "Relizonline"

Sunnyvale, CA June 2, 2003 Vitria, a leading provider of business process integration solutions, today announced the successful implementation of Vitria's BusinessWare at The Relizon Company, a leading provider of total business communications solutions. Vitria is providing the platform for seamless integration of Relizon's back-end systems with its Web-based customer portal, Relizonline 2.0.

Relizon helps customers achieve measurable results through business process improvements in document management, billing, and relationship marketing. The company sells print and Web-based solutions to more than 12,000 customers across the U.S. and Canada.

Relizon needed to eliminate its existing point-to-point integrations and move to a more integrated enterprise in order for Relizonline to be successful. Previous Web applications were built on native connections. With BusinessWare, legacy system data and data from fulfillment systems on the back end are now integrated with and visible through the Web applications. By utilizing the common standardized channels enabled by BusinessWare, Relizon has streamlined interactions with customers and automated its order management and fulfillment functionality, enabling Relizonline to process more than 1.5 million transactions per month.

"A customer portal was the ideal solution for our business, which demanded a more organized flow of information across the enterprise and a more efficient system for delivering information to customers," said Marge Putman, vice president of information technology at Relizon. "Vitria's BusinessWare has provided a robust platform enabling us to provide near real-time information, such as inventory levels and relevant pricing structures, to our customer communities quickly and thoroughly while freeing up our human resources to focus on higher level strategic initiatives."

Vitria's BusinessWare provides a platform of system integration, not system replacement, enabling existing systems to communicate, leading to lower operating costs, reduced time to market, more accurate and timely information delivery and increased customer satisfaction.

"Customer fulfillment is a process that inherently spans multiple applications, but a company's customers don't need to see the internal silos of information, rather they can view a total service company fulfilling their needs," said John Philpin, vice president of marketing, Vitria. "At Relizon, BusinessWare enabled the Relizonline project through data integration of the back-end systems, providing a single view and a single point of control to improve the customer experience while facilitating the on-time delivery and configure-to-order service that is required to maintain a competitive edge in today's customer driven marketplace."

Far EasTone and Korean Aerospace Industries have chosen Commerce One Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions to attain heightened efficiency and collaboration in their sourcing and purchasing processes. Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) joins GTWebKorea in selecting the Commerce One Conductor platform.

"ITRI turned to Commerce One for its history and expertise in helping companies collaborate over the Internet," said Dr. Peter Wang, deputy general director of ITRI. "We specifically chose Commerce One Conductor for its ability to automate and manage complex processes and interactions between users."

ITRI selected the Commerce One Conductor platform to support its joint venture with the Taiwanese government in creating the Silicon Intellectual Property Mall to provide an Internet-based catalogue for chip developers to share and contribute intellectual property across their community. The Commerce One Conductor platform is designed to transform and accelerate the way applications and business processes are deployed by helping companies to quickly and easily create, connect and coordinate business processes between customers and partners without being limited by the constraints of existing applications or platforms.

Commerce One also continued to build upon its strong position in the SRM market with new customer wins including Far EasTone, a leading telecommunications provider in Taiwan, which was secured through Commerce One's partnership with Com2B of Taiwan, and the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI), the Republic of Korea's national aerospace company established with the consolidation of Samsung Aerospace, Daewoo Heavy Industries and Hyundai Space and Aircraft Co.

"The customer activity we are experiencing in the Asia Pacific area is indicative of our strong reputation in the region. The Home Depot Subscribes to UCCnet Registration and Synchronization Services to Improve Supply Chain Efficiencies

Lawrenceville, NJ June 9, 2003 UCCnet, a not-for-profit organization that provides item registry and synchronization services, announced today that The Home Depot will begin implementing the organization's item registration and synchronization services for its more than 1,500 stores located in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico this year. Additionally, Home Depot is in the process of requesting its suppliers subscribe to UCCnet to begin the process of implementing UCCnet's item registration and data synchronization services.

The Home Depot will register location data in the UCCnet GLOBALregistry, an industry-supported repository for standardized item, location, and trading partner data. Home Depot's suppliers will also register item data in the GLOBALregistry. Once registered, UCCnet checks the data for compliance to industry standards. Home Depot will then use UCCnet's item synchronization service to synchronize the registry-compliant data with its suppliers, ensuring that all suppliers are using identical, up-to-date, standards-compliant data.

"Every trading partner of Home Depot will implement these common data standards to help reduce errors and supply chain costs. This is a critical industry initiative, and that is why there is such an unprecedented level of support from major retailers and suppliers in the industry," said Mark Healy, Senior Director of Merchandising Operations for Home Depot.

"The benefits of subscribing to UCCnet's GLOBALregistry will make Home Depot's supply chain even more efficient and effective," said Rhonda B. Horn, Vice President of Business Development for UCCnet. "Home Depot is demonstrating true industry leadership by joining the 600 other supply and demand side trading partners as members of the UCCnet community."

An industry study conducted by A.T. Kearney estimated that $40 billion, or 3.5 percent, of total sales lost each year are due to supply chain information inefficiencies. Specifically, the study showed that 30 percent of items in retail catalogs have data errors, which cost between $60 and $80 each and consume 25 minutes of manual correction per SKU. Other findings revealed that 60 percent of all invoices generated errors and 43 percent of all invoices resulted in deductions.

UCCnet's services will enable suppliers and their retail partners to reduce costly administrative errors in invoice pricing, purchase orders, product delivery and scanning accuracy. In addition, companies will be able to increase the speed of getting new products to market and facilitate changes to existing item information. Synchronized data in a standard format also provides a solid foundation for realizing the true cost savings value of more advanced e-commerce tools such as scan-based trading and Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR).

About UCCnet

UCCnet is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt neutral organization that provides item registry and data synchronization based on industry-developed standards. UCCnet provides a foundation for electronic commerce and cost effective transaction of data among partners. Through its support of global EAN.UCC standards, UCCnet delivers an open platform for collaborative commerce services, including compliance verification, synchronization of product information, registry and lifecycle management of synchronized products, user locations and user trade capabilities. As a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council, Inc., the global standards organization, UCCnet leverages its position to enable the rapid, clear development of industry Internet standards and practices. In addition, UCCnet certifies technology solution providers and provides implementation methodology, allowing small, medium and large enterprises to implement item registry and data synchronization services into their business in a swift and efficient manner.
