Electronics retailer taps Evant for software to standardize its merchandising and demand chain operations
San Francisco, CA — August 6, 2003 — Evant, a provider of retail management software and services, today announced that Good Guys Inc. has selected two Evant solutions to standardize its merchandising and demand chain operations, which support 71 of its stores in the Western United States.
Good Guys, a retailer of higher-end entertainment electronics, said it plans to deploy the Evant Merchandise Planning platform in September. With the solution, Good Guys explained that it would establish a next-generation planning process to enable its merchants to control inventory via open-to-buy and respond more rapidly to changing inventory needs. "We expect that Evant Merchandise Planning will be instrumental in creating efficiencies in our merchandising process," said Cathy Stauffer, executive vice president at Good Guys.
Soon after implementing Evant Merchandise Planning, Good Guys will deploy Evant Demand Planning and Replenishment, which will unite the company's vendors, distribution centers and stores on a single system to streamline its demand chain business processes.
"We are excited about our relationship with Good Guys, and we believe the company is setting a new standard for how inventory is managed in the entertainment electronics business," said Katrina Roche, president and chief operating officer of Evant.
