NFI Converts Lowe's Fleets to Natural Gas

NFI Industries is picked to run a dedicated natural gas fleet at the Lowe’s regional distribution center in Texas

New Jersey-based logistics provider NFI Industries has been hand picked by home-improvement retailing giant Lowe's to help them work toward their goal of replacing all of their diesel-powered dedicated fleets with natural gas trucks by the end of 2017, with the announcement that NFI will run a dedicated natural gas fleet at the Lowe’s regional distribution center in Mount Vernon, Texas.

Lowe's also announced that fuel supplier Clean Energy Fuels is helping “accelerate the transition to natural gas,” adding that the new natural gas station Clean Energy Fuels is building in Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be used to service the new NFI fleet. Lowe’s expects the fleet to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 20 percent and it will also help to control fuel costs while transporting up to 68 truckloads a day to stores in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. To read more, click HERE.
