Panjiva Helps Raise Visibility of U.S. Manufacturers with Addition of Export Data

More than three million new export records and 80,000 companies now available in global trade platform’s searchable profiles

New York—July 22 2013—Panjiva, a B2B platform for global trade, has made data on more than 80,000 companies exporting goods from U.S. ports available on its platform. By integrating export data into the robust, searchable company profiles leveraged by many of the world’s biggest buyers, Panjiva is providing greater visibility than ever before into the capabilities and experience of the U.S. supply base.

The availability of export data comes at a critical time, as buyers worldwide look to diversify their supply base beyond China and U.S. organizations in both the public and private sectors are developing initiatives focused on reinvigorating the American manufacturing industry. Panjiva takes complex and disparate data available from U.S. Customs and processes it in a way that pulls out relevant, important pieces of information about the supplier’s history. The data is then presented in an intelligent, user-friendly manner within the context of a company profile, which also includes detailed information such as contact information, certifications, sustainability and financial health.

In addition to U.S. supplier information already available on Panjiva through its partnership with ThomasNet, the addition of export data provides Panjiva users with insight into the track records of more than 80,000 companies, the vast majority of which are U.S.-based. Panjiva has organized the data in a novel way that allows users to search by product, making it a powerful tool for identifying the companies in the United States that make the products they would like to buy. The underlying data can also be searched and organized in a variety of additional ways.

“Because companies have been so focused on manufacturing abroad, there has not been nearly enough attention paid to collecting and disseminating information about the capabilities of U.S. suppliers, which greatly limits not only their visibility to buyers, but more importantly, their likelihood of success,” said Josh Green, co-founder and CEO, Panjiva.  “Fortunately, that is a very solvable problem and one that is at the heart of Panjiva’s mission. Making export data available on Panjiva is a major step toward providing greater transparency into the capabilities of American suppliers and we are eager to work with our customers, partners and other organizations to do even more to raise the individual and collective profile of the U.S. supply base.”

Export data is now available in Panjiva’s Enhanced and Business subscription plans. For more information or to set up a demo, visit http://panjiva.com/blog/us-export-data
