Hair salon empire taps Movaris solution to go beyond passive controls for active monitoring

Campbell, CA — October 21, 2003 — Hair salon empire Regis Corp. is set to deploy a solution to automate the company's processes for ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA).

Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minn., Regis, a Fortune 1000 company with 49,000 employees and 9,700 hair salons worldwide, will deploy solution provider Movaris' Certainty software to automate its compliance obligation throughout all of its major financial cycles around the world.

Movaris says that Certainty is a business process management-based application that documents, monitors, tests and reports on a company's compliance requirements from internal controls definition to attestation preparation.

Using Certainty, Regis plans to complete its Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiative without additional staff. Regis intends for its Sarbanes-Oxley program to help to increase investor confidence while driving down the total cost of compliance.

In addition to Certainty, Regis has purchased the Movaris Business Process Management (BPM) Platform to create further efficiencies in its financial processes. Built on top of this platform, Certainty can adjust to changes such as mergers and acquisitions, according to the solution provider.

"At Regis we are embracing our role as a corporate citizen through our compliance initiative," said Kyle Didier, vice president of finance at Regis. "Investors can be confident that our financial transactions around the world are being accurately monitored, controlled and reported."

Didier added that Regis selected Certainty because the solution goes beyond control documentation to actively scheduling, monitoring and helping with attestation preparation.

"Regis understands that Sarbanes-Oxley compliance isn't just about passively documenting controls," said Paul Rosenblum, vice president of products at Movaris. "Their use of Certainty's active monitoring will help increase confidence and provide greater transparency than ever before."

Other companies using Movaris' technology include AT&T, Corporate Express and Procter & Gamble.
