TradeStone Aims to Eliminate Recalls and Ensure Product Safety with Factory Footprint
New solution provides retailers and wholesalers with tools to ensure product quality and social compliance
Gloucester, MA — September 19, 2007 — Product lifecycle management (PLM) solution provider TradeStone Software has taken the wraps of its new quality and social compliance tool, offering a solution to help retailers ensure that their products and the factories that produce the goods are safe and conform to specific product development guidelines.
Customers already have gone live with TradeStone Factory Footprint, the solution provider said. The new offering is intended to be integrated into the retailer's product development, sourcing and order process to ensure that the factories they are using or considering for production are operating and adhering to key rules and regulations.
The solution also assures vendors are meeting the social, legal and ethical standards set up by each retailer to guarantee all goods are compliant and tested for safe delivery, according to TradeStone.
Improving Supply Chain Visibility
Factory Footprint aims to give retailers improved visibility into supplier factory operations to help minimize the risks associated with product safety, regulatory compliance and potentially late deliveries. In addition, the solution allows retailers to set up vendor and factory compliance inspections, schedule audits automatically, track product testing results and reschedule key tests based on those results.
Factory Footprint also gives vendors and factories access to code of conduct documentation and certification requirements based on products produced and countries involved in the trading.
The solution will alert retailers in real-time if there is a problem in a factory to help ensure that appropriate actions are taken immediately and the supply chain is not affected. This detailed view of the supply chain offers a better way for retailers to monitor production and track orders, while being assured that the factories producing those orders are complying with regulations and policies, TradeStone said.
Marquee customers of TradeStone's retail solutions include American Eagle Outfitters, Circuit City, Guitar Center and Kohl's, among others.
