Patheon Signs Agreement with Zycus for Strategic Sourcing Solution
Drug development and manufacturing services firm to replace traditional tendering process with iSource solution selected for ease of use to ensure adoption by procurement
Princeton, NJ — October 12, 2009 — Pharma services company Patheon Inc. has signed up to deploy spend management software from Zycus as part of an initiative to accelerate return on investment and standardize Patheon's tendering processes.
Ontario, Canada-based Patheon is a global provider of drug development and manufacturing services to the international pharmaceutical industry. Patheon has an integrated development and manufacturing network of 11 facilities and eight development centers, across North America and Europe.
The company has inked an agreement to deploy Zycus iSource software. Zycus iSource will replace Patheon's traditional tendering processes. The solution was chosen for its ease of use to ensure user adoption for Patheon's procurement team.
"The Zycus iSource solution is easy-to-use and offers many useful capabilities, such as drag-and-drop creation of RFx, electronic auction capabilities and interactive graphical bid analysis," said Jonathan Arnold, vice president of global supply chain at Patheon. "The entire collaborative Zycus iSource platform is exactly what we were looking for to maximize the savings results from our global procurement initiatives."
