New Jersey Department of the Treasury Selects Emptoris Spend Analysis Software
State looks to identify savings opportunities across its procurement processes in order to better control and manage costs
Burlington, MA — March 5, 2009 — The New Jersey Department of the Treasury has selected spend analysis software from Emptoris for application at the state's Division of Purchase and Property to identify savings opportunities across its procurement processes in order to better control and manage costs.
New Jersey is the 11th largest state by population, and the third highest per capita income in the United States. The Department of the Treasury is responsible for managing all aspects of the state's $33.5 billion budget.
Emptoris said its Spend Analysis solution allows companies and organizations to perform a deep analysis of spending to identify savings opportunities to drive cost savings and improve the amount of spend under management.
"In today's economic environment, organizations need to be as efficient and effective as possible in their spend management," said Ted Williams, senior vice president for global field operations with Emptoris. "Leveraging the power of technology, and specifically spend analytics technologies, is one of the most effective means of accurately and efficiently controlling spending."
Emptoris reports that it has seen interest from a number of government and public entities signing up for spend analysis and their solution suite, notably including the U.K. government's Home Office and HM Revenue and Customs.
