ModusLink's First Regionally Optimized Supply Chain Solution Targets Europe
Tailored solutions leverage local market expertise, integrated service bundles to help tech manufacturers rapidly build supply chain infrastructure; Macpower & Tytech signs up
Waltham, MA — October 1, 2007 — Supply chain solution and service provider ModusLink Corporation has taken the wraps off a new offering aimed at helping technology manufacturers rapidly establish a supply chain infrastructure in Europe, the first of a planned series of regionally optimized solutions.
The solution provider also announced that technology company Macpower & Tytech has named ModusLink as its sole European supply chain provider.
The new Gateway to Europe Solution is part of ModusLink's Gateway to Market Solutions, designed to let companies set up a supply chain in a key geographic market with minimal capital investment and risk.
The Gateway to Europe Solution is a bundled offering that enables clients to leverage a range of core, end-to-end services, including sourcing and supply-base management (with optional vendor-managed inventory); materials and content management; light manufacturing and optimized configuration; fulfillment and e-business; and aftermarket services (including returns management and asset disposition).
"Ready-made Supply Network
"Whether clients are preparing to enter into the European market, for the first time, or are interested in improving existing supply chain operations, ModusLink's Gateway to Europe Solution provides a fully optimized, ready-made supply chain network capable of reaching customers throughout Europe with the highest levels of efficiency and profitability," the solution provider said in announcing the offering.
The Gateway to Europe Solution combines ModusLink's local and global market knowledge, integrated operations and global footprint with a range of regionally optimized, integrated services, the solution provider said.
With the solution, ModusLink said, technology companies can look to meet the complexities of European supply chain management, including customers in multiple countries with multiple language requirements, variable regulatory compliance, value-added tax (VAT), sourcing constraints and customs clearance.
