Linking Online Travel Booking and Meetings Management
Orbitz Worldwide, StarCite to offer corporate meeting attendees online tools to plan and book travel directly through meetings management application
Chicago — July 27, 2007 — Travel site Orbitz Worldwide is allying with on-demand meetings management specialist StarCite to offer corporate meeting attendees a way to plan and book travel, the two companies have announced.
StarCite provides a Web-based software platform for enterprise meetings management designed to help organizations bring visibility, savings and control to corporate meetings and event spend.
Through this new alliance with Orbitz Worldwide's Corporate Travel Solutions Group, StarCite users and meeting attendees will be able to book travel on Orbitz for Business and Travelport for Business direct from the StarCite Attendee Management application. The new travel booking feature is expected to be available to customers by the first quarter of 2008.
"We're pleased to provide event planners and meeting attendees with a valuable extension to the StarCite platform, and a quick and easy way to coordinate travel plans with their next corporate meeting," said Dean Sivley, chief operating officer and general manager of Orbitz Worldwide's Corporate Travel Solutions Group.
Mike Boult, president and CEO of StarCite, added: "Integrating travel booking with our meetings management platform is a key step in driving a more strategic approach to corporate meetings and events."
StarCite has also selected Travelport for Business, one of Orbitz Worldwide's corporate travel brands, to serve StarCite's corporate travel management program.
