Fieldglass Adds 33 New Customers for 2009
Contingent workforce management specialist tops 100 clients, sees large organizations recognizing need for improvement in services procurement

Amanda Alexander, global head of talent for executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles, is interviewed about the battle of the top talent in the world in this video posted February 03, 2009.

Chicago — February 5, 2010 — Contingent workforce management specialist Fieldglass breached the 100-customer mark last year, adding 33 new clients, even as it completed more than four dozen expansions of existing customer programs, according to the company.

As Fieldglass sees it, the biggest driver of this growth has been the recognition among large global companies that the procurement of labor and services has become increasingly complex and needs to be better managed. One new customer chose Fieldglass because its solution allowed them to manage workers across North America, Asia and Europe using multiple program providers, the solution provider said.

"We have been fortunate to achieve such strong growth in a difficult economic environment," said Jai Shekhawat, CEO at Fieldglass. "We designed our solution and operational infrastructure to serve the world's largest and most complex programs. It is gratifying to see that the market recognizes us as the logical choice for companies with a large number of workers and complex business requirements across many geographies."

Fieldglass also completed more than 50 expansions of existing customer programs, most into additional labor categories and new geographies. In spite of significant investments to support this growth, Fieldglass said it recorded the most profitable year in its history "and continues to have the industry's strongest balance sheet." The firm also surpassed one million users registered and over 10 million timesheets processed last year.

Significant product initiatives in 2009 included Fieldglass Business Intelligence, a suite to allow customers to uncover program data, identify trends and anomalies and benchmark against the industry.

Fieldglass said it expects to see similar levels of growth in 2010. Multiple research firms predict varying levels of contingent labor increases; one report from labor law firm Littler Mendelson reported temporary workers could account for as much as 50 percent of the entire workforce added after the recession.

In addition, Staffing Industry Analysts predicts vendor managed system (VMS) usage will increase significantly. Results from their "2009 Staffing Buyers Survey" suggest that 81 percent of respondents will be using a VMS solution by 2011.

Fieldglass said it plans to focus its efforts on further global expansion, ongoing strategic customer support and a continued focus on analytics in 2010.
