Burlington, MA — April 19, 2007 — Emptoris, a provider of enterprise supply and contract management software, announced today several differentiated offerings, including a new Advanced Sourcing Service for addressing high-value and high-risk categories of spend, an Opportunity Identification capability within the Emptoris Spend Analysis solution, and contract management innovations for governance of global contracting.

Over 60 percent of the global economy relies on effective sourcing of very complex categories, according to Emptoris. The savings potential is enormous, Emptoris said, often in the range of 14 to 23 percent, but so is the degree of complexity, which comes from hundreds of thousands of bids and the need to optimize millions of data points across hundreds of business constraints from various suppliers and stake-holders.

Due to changing market conditions, Emptoris explained that businesses today require greater nimbleness and sophistication in sourcing these categories. These businesses are also extremely sensitive to risks involved in e-sourcing these categories, due to the significant spend represented by each sourcing event.

The Emptoris Advanced Sourcing Service provides a turn-key solution for addressing high-value, high-risk spend categories. With the addition of this service Emptoris said customers can address any aspect of the sourcing spectrum, from traditional low-hanging opportunities, through the long-tail of diverse spend categories, and now the mega-events involving significant scale, complexity, and risk.
