Coupa Updates Open Source e-Procurement Project
First freely downloadable e-procurement software solution adds features intended to streamline e-procurement process, increase ease-of-use

Foster City, CA — August 29, 2007 — Open source e-procurement specialist Coupa has debuted the latest release of e-Procurement Express, its freely downloadable solution, adding features intended to streamline the e-procurement process and increase the solution's ease-of-use.

Coupa e-Procurement Express v1.5, downloadable at www.coupa.com or http://sourceforge.net/projects/coupa, aims to provide a simple, quick and free solution that automates the requisition, approval, purchase order and receipt management process.

According to the solution provider, version 1.5 combines advanced capabilities for control of departmental and employee purchasing with simplicity — "simple to acquire, simple to install and maintain, as well as simple enough to use that employees actually prefer it for their business purchasing needs."

Accelerating the Purchasing Cycle

Express v1.5 aims to accelerate the purchasing cycle with new features such as support for need-by dates, purchase order changes, formal revisions and acknowledgement, as well as improved buyer management of requisitions that require action and updated Quick Order Entry for non-catalog or one-time item or services requests. Additionally, Coupa Express now supports punch out, cXML and p-cards.

Coupa said that the new version includes easier-to-use screens for managing purchase orders and requisitions for buyers, as well as additional options for navigation among purchase orders, requisitions and receipts.

In addition, since many small and midsize companies have sophisticated requirements, v1.5 includes new features such as multi-currency support. Buyers can also insert comments on a purchase order or add multiple files, including URL attachments.

The new Coupa Express also lets users create PDF purchase order layouts with customizable boilerplate terms. Finally, companies can now upload CSV catalogs and create a set of default how-to-buy policies.
