Beefing up Supplier Information Management
SIM 10 from Aravo aims to provide collaborative platform for self-service management of supplier information with pre-packaged solutions for sustainability and risk management
St. Louis, MO — May 5, 2008 — Supplier information management specialist Aravo Solutions has taken the wraps off the latest version of its flagship SIM platform, offering tools for self-service management of supplier information along with pre-packaged solutions for sustainability and risk management, among other new capabilities.
The launch announcement was made today at the Institute for Supply Management's annual conference in St. Louis.
According to Aravo, the SIM 10 platform was designed and built to assist global enterprises in gaining control over supply chain management challenges while minimizing the risks of inefficiencies and unanticipated failures in the supply chain.
"More stringent regulatory mandates and increased pressures to outsource have significantly increased the challenges global enterprises face in managing supplier information," said Aravo CEO Tim Albinson. Built on Self-service
Built on the concept of self-service and automation, the solution aims to provide role-based dashboards that pull together disparate pieces of information from diverse areas of the business and aggregate third-party and supplier-generated data into a centralized master data repository.
Using the platform, suppliers can self-author their own information and submit it to their enterprise buyer partners through a workflow-based submission and approval process. The idea is to ensure that all supply chain participants, no matter where they are located, have 24x7 access to accurate information with whatever level of detail they need to perform their jobs. Both suppliers and buyers can see a full audit history of all changes made to supplier data.
