Pittsburgh, PA — November 18, 2008 — While you may not expect to find procurement-related questions on popular game shows, senior professional in supply management (SPSM) Certification provider Next Level Purchasing is bringing the concept to the purchasing field by integrating procurement content with such games as hangman, million-dollar quiz and crosswords.

These new procurement games, which Next Level Purchasing said is designed not only to bring fun to purchasing training but also to reinforce a student’s learning, are already available at the mid-point of each full-length Next Level Purchasing course.

The "Mastering Purchasing Fundamentals" course includes a game similar to hangman, which reviews material from the first four lessons. The student is given a question and the letter spaces provide a hint as to the correct answer. Students can either type the single word answer or can choose letters to "guess" as is typical in hangman. Additional games are expected to be added throughout each course in the near future.

A special game will be available to the public for free through the eNewsletter PurchTips starting on November 19, 2008. The "Million Dollar Savings Game," which includes questions based on content from previous editions of PurchTips, mimics "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in its format. The contestant has two hints available to help them try to achieve as much "cost savings" as possible.

"It's important that purchasers are able to understand and apply the information from our courses, but learning doesn't have to be boring," said Charles Dominick, SPSM, president and founder of Next Level Purchasing. "These new games are intended to help support our students' learning while letting them have some fun at the same time."
