Latest Version of BPM Suite Aims to Make Migrations Easier
Ultimus adds new tool to business process management solution to allow process-by-process moves to new version
Cary, NC — August 12, 2008 — Business process management specialist Ultimus has debuted the latest installment of its Adaptive BPM Suite, adding a new migration tool aimed at enabling current users to more easily upgrade business processes to the latest platform.
Version 8.1 of Ultimus' Adaptive BPM Suite follows on the heels of a major release last year in which Ultimus provided tighter integration with Microsoft SharePoint, collaborative clients, SOA-based architecture and easier access to business data via a new XML data model.
"Migration is often a daunting prospect to any IT or Applications administrator; it typically requires significant preparation followed by an extended data transition with a light-switch mentality," said Chris Adams, vice president of product marketing and management at Ultimus. "However, the migration tools [that] are an integral part of Ultimus Adaptive BPM Suite 8.1 permit migrations to execute while the existing BPM Servers continue to process live tasks. Moreover, Ultimus migrations can be executed process by process. This type of gradual and methodical migration allows for the necessary testing, training, confirmation and rollout that is part of every successful enterprise-level migration."
In addition to migration capabilities, new capabilities in the suite that Ultimus is highlighting include expanded support of Microsoft Vista, greater visibility of business data through enhanced reporting (including new 3D graphics), and support for Microsoft virtual technologies. Ultimus said version 8.1 also provides new Web form development features as well as a number of performance enhancements to many features and functions.
"We designed this release to further strengthen our strategy of enabling the design, optimization, and maturation of people-centric business processes," said Adams. "Our goal is to provide the features and capabilities required to enable business process champions to build functional processes, then optimize and mature those processes after they go live."
