Paso Robles, CA — August 28, 2007 — Alexandria, Minn.-based Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, a short-run injection molder, said today that it has driven 60 percent growth with widely-used, single source EnterpriseIQ software from IQMS.
As a long-standing IQMS customer, Donnelly has seen across-the-board improvements and optimized efficiency to double its complexity swiftly and with a smaller office staff than was in place before installing IQMS.
"There are a lot of hard truths in our industry that we need software to manage," said Ron Kirscht president at Donnelly. "For example, we might have one tool that makes 64 parts every cycle. A lot of ERP systems can't handle these truths. You have to lie to the system to trick it into doing what you need it to do, but EnterpriseIQ can handle the truth. It easily manages many key aspects of our business and simplifies processes so we can embrace a greater level of complexity and manage it well."
IQMS said the significance of Kirscht's statement is best seen by truly understanding the level of complexity Donnelly competitively manages using EnterpriseIQ. Plante & Moran, the nation's 11th largest certified public accounting and business advisory firm, defines manufacturing complexity as the number of active resins multiplied by the number of active presses multiplied again by the number of active molds a company has in process. The upper quartile of this index is 1.2 million, but Donnelly's complexity index tops 42 million.
"In today's demand economy, short-run manufacturing is growing exponentially complex," explained Randy Flamm, president and founder of IQMS. "That complexity translates into growth potential, but to remain competitive, companies like Donnelly must strategically optimize operations for efficiency and quality. EnterpriseIQ helps all types of manufacturers do just that by providing solutions designed specifically for their industries. As a committed business partner to each of our customers, we are pleased to support the growing success of leading companies like Donnelly Custom Manufacturing."
