Staples Turns to Blue Sky Logistics for Supply Chain Visibility
Office supply company adopts solution for real-time managerial dashboard of operational metrics and statistics
Coppell, TX — April 25, 2007 — Office supply giant Staples has named Blue Sky Logistics to be its supply chain visibility provider, inking a perpetual agreement for an enterprise license to use the solution provider's visibility products across distribution transactions in its supply chain.
Central to these products is Insight, Blue Sky's visibility dashboard that is designed to monitor critical decision information at all management levels. Insight is a Web-native application that uses a company's real-time data to track and monitor key performance metrics and trends.
Insight comes with a library of predefined supply chain instruments and alerts and is integrated with various supply chain planning and execution systems.
"Staples is focused on achieving supply chain excellence to make buying office products easy for our customers," said Ron Adams, senior manager of distribution systems for Staples. "We have been looking for a supply chain software solution to provide a managerial dashboard view of our operational metrics and statistics, and Blue Sky fits our requirements precisely."
Adams said that Staples intends to use Blue Sky for proactive management, alerting and reporting across a number of disparate supply chain systems.
"Most information systems today operate in a vacuum, focusing on only one area," said Randy Marble, CEO of Blue Sky Logistics. "Our applications provide an expanded view that encompasses data from all areas of the supply chain, which should be of tremendous value to Staples in the management of their supply chain fulfillment functions."
