SkyeTek Debuts Networked RFID Solutions for Asset Tracking, Inventory Management
Also inks deal with Seeonic to incorporate RFID into disposable smart-displays in order to provide real-time inventory tracking of promotional items
Boston — September 24, 2007 — Embedded radio frequency identification solutions provider SkyeTek debuted three new solutions at last week's RFID World conference in Boston, offering new approaches for asset tracking, inventory management and product authentication.
SkyeTek also announced that Seeonic, a provider of "smart-shelf" technology, is leveraging SkyeTek's software and embedded RFID readers in their disposable smart-displays in order to provide real-time inventory tracking of promotional items.
A provider of RFID technologies that get incorporated into other enablers' RFID solutions, SkyeTek's customers focus on such applications as item-level inventory management.
New RFID Solutions
Each of SkyeTek's new solutions is comprised of a specific set of software, hardware and professional services that serve as the platform for RFID-enabled applications in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail and hospitality.
The new Absolute Visibility solution aims to allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators (Sis) and service providers offer customers newfound insight into the movement and consumption of valuable assets and inventory.
This solution could include reader technology embedded in handheld or doorway readers, as well as in "smart cabinets" or on "smart shelves" to help track inventory and prevent stockouts, provide visibility into demand patterns and prevent shrinkage.
In addition, SkyeTek's new Continuous Authentication solution enables OEMs, SIs and service providers to create offerings that provide authentication and chain of custody for products, consumables, parts and security credentials.
