Mohawk Fine Papers Eyes Improved Customer Service with Supply Chain Solution
Premium paper company deploying transportation management solution from Infor to provide real-time, single view into customer, transportation and supplier relationships
Atlanta — June 18, 2007 — Premium paper products company Mohawk Fine Papers has tapped a supply chain solution from Infor as part of an initiative to reduce operational costs and provide real-time visibility into its supply chain, the solution provider has announced.
Mohawk's dynamic environment required a transportation management solution that would facilitate automated, same-day shipping of orders and integrate with the company's current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The company is set to use Infor's SCM Transportation Management solution, which will be interoperable with Mohawk's current deployment of Infor ERP LX system.
Infor said that SCM Transportation Management will enable Mohawk, its transport partners, brokers and customers to have greater visibility of transportation information, which will be used to monitor and track order progress, as well as provide accurate, up-to-the minute status of customer shipments.
"Our objective is to provide the highest levels of customer service by delivering products to our customers without issues or delays while running our transportation network as efficiently as possible," said Paul Stamas, vice president of IT for Mohawk. "Infor has provided Mohawk with a single platform to procure, execute, monitor and reconcile freight services thereby increasing the velocity and performance of our supply chain."
Mohawk is deploying SCM Transportation Management as a hosted solution and expects to be live in just two months. The Web-based solution reduces implementation time and costs, and it provides Mohawk and its partners instant access from any location to system-wide information, Infor said.
