Dulles, VA — June 11, 2008 — Everest Software, a provider of a fully-integrated business operating system for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), has announced the debut of Everest Advanced 5.0. Until the end of this month the product is being used by a number of customers on a "managed availability" basis.
The company said release 5.0 represents a next generation of productivity features, business process improvements, e-commerce facilities and technology developed entirely with customer input. A product preview was unveiled at the company's April Everest World user conference. According to Ali Jani, chief technology officer for Everest, "This version is intended to help SMBs grow, streamline and manage their businesses in ways that have not been possible previously from a single platform, a single application that is integrated with all their critical business processes."
Everest said customer growth is facilitated through the new Everest eStorefront. The software has been integrated with back-end inventory and sales management so that businesses can add products and grow sales without adding staff. Customer retention features have also been provided such as gift cards, gift receipts and check-out options.
Streamlined productivity is another feature Everest 5.0. Merchants with multiple, similar products and changing product lines are expected to benefit with matrix management. Receiving and fulfillment has been optimized, and accounting procedures have been simplified and automated. Look-and-feel control has also been updated with graphics, a user-friendly interface, customizable menus and navigation.
Better business management and efficiency has been improved with tools such as key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards. Enhanced reports and audit trails have been added to grant more real-time visibility and control. And new Everest functionality has been created to reduce the need for technical knowledge, such as HTML programming, eliminate manual intervention and expedite reliable process management overall.
