BreconRidge Deploys RapidResponse to Support Demand Management
Design engineering and manufacturing services provider notes enhanced customer responsiveness with Kinaxis solution

Ottawa, Canada — June 19, 2008 — BreconRidge Corporation, a provider of innovative design engineering and manufacturing services, has deployed Kinaxis RapidResponse to improve data analysis, decision-making and response times in managing customer demand.

Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with facilities located across the globe, BreconRidge collaborates on voice, video and data applications with the communications, industrial and defense original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Specializing in radio frequency (RF), microwave and optical technologies and applications, BreconRidge delivers a complete range of lifecycle services from collaborative design, new product introduction, supply chain management, process and test engineering, DFx services, manufacturing, repair, distribution and reverse logistics.

As collaborative partnerships with its customers are at the foundation of BreconRidge's value proposition, the company said that establishing a core competency in response management is critical. RapidResponse, integrated with BreconRidge's SAP environment, facilitates impact analysis of supply, demand and product changes, and ultimately drives rapid resolution to continually changing supply chain conditions.

With RapidResponse, BreconRidge said users can access accurate and detailed manufacturing information in a spreadsheet interface embedded with enterprise resource planning (ERP) analytics and automatically populated with live data feeds from their SAP system. Supply chain participants across various functional groups can model ERP data to simulate and share the impacts of countless "what-if" scenarios. They then can score these scenario alternatives against set performance metrics to ensure that decisions are aligned with corporate goals.

BreconRidge said these capabilities have been of specific benefit in the area of managing customer order promising, on-time-delivery (OTD), and engineering changes. With RapidResponse, BreconRidge is able to offer its customers more accurate original commit information through improved "capable to promise" analysis, resulting in on-time delivery performance. And with actionable data easily on hand and readily accessible to everyone that needs it, the company said response times to customers for demand change requests have shortened, as too with inventory conversion and lead times.

"Kinaxis' depth of experience serving our dynamic industry was a compelling factor in pursuing this relationship, as we were confident in their understanding of the specific challenges of our competitive space," said Glenda Paquin, vice president of planning & supply management at BreconRidge.

Randy Littleson, vice president of marketing at Kinaxis, added: "As product and price are leveling out across the competitive ODM/EMS industry, these historical points of differentiation are now losing ground to a higher priority of increased customer responsiveness and service. RapidResponse is designed to ensure both operations performance and customer responsiveness as BreconRidge faces the daily challenges of operating in a volatile environment, addressing a broad range of customer requirements and managing multiple, geographically dispersed manufacturing sites."
