Berwyn, PA, and Toronto, Ontario — August 5, 2008 — Pinty's Delicious Foods of Canada, which delivers fresh and frozen chicken products to the retail and food service industries in Canada, has embarked on a projected called "Golden Egg" to deploy applications from Business Objects, an SAP company, to improve sales and finance reporting across its organization. IDS Scheer was selected to lead the implementation, which has a rapid deployment schedule of only seven weeks.
"The timing is right for Pinty's," said Barry Hillier, chief information officer at Pinty's Delicious Foods. "Now that Business Objects is part of SAP, it's a natural progression to implement Business Objects software to further leverage our investment in SAP solutions."
In 2000, Pinty's was one of the first companies in North America to implement a pre-configured SAP solution, which provides midsize companies with functionality to efficiently manage their business processes from financials to sales and distribution to materials management and production planning.
Pinty's said one of its guiding principles is to leverage information systems to contain and reduce costs and better manage its business to achieve long-term success. To fulfill this goal, the company supported its exponential growth from a $50-million company in 1999 to a $300-million company today by enhancing its SAP solution-based environment with implementation services from IDS Scheer.
The expansion of SAP solutions included a major upgrade and amalgamations in 2006, as well as costing, rebate agreements and plant reporting enhancement initiatives. In addition, Pinty's internal teams have integrated two additional plants and rolled out SAP solutions to its shop floors.
The next step in the journey is project Golden Egg, which involves deploying Business Objects applications to leverage the information in SAP solutions (and legacy systems) for improved reporting across the organization in the areas of sales and finance.
"Pinty's came to us with an aggressive seven-week implementation plan," said Jason Mausberg, managing director for IDS Scheer in Canada. "The plan is to deploy a state-of-the-art solution for the mid-market with fast time to value."
