Integrated Business Planning Meets Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server
River Logic integrates Enterprise Optimizer with MS for business intelligence and performance management solutions aimed at connecting business strategy with tactical execution
Dallas — June 23, 2008 — Business planning solutions River Logic has announced the integration of its Enterprise Optimizer product line with the Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 and the Microsoft Office 2007 Systems.
River Logic said its Enterprise Optimizer (EO) solution brings integrated business planning to Microsoft's computing platform. Specifically, EO provides Office PerformancePoint 2007 users and partners with modeling and analytics capabilities aimed at connecting business strategy with tactical execution.
As a planning application, Enterprise Optimizer was designed to model an entire business, simultaneously considering business processes, customers, products, inputs, constraints and financials to identify the decisions that generate the highest financial impact. "Through real-world integrated business planning, Enterprise Optimizer aligns metrics, targets and execution requirements with strategy and financials under a single planning platform," according to River Logic.
Michael Smith, director of marketing for Microsoft Business Intelligence, said that success in business intelligence can best be achieved by extending planning capabilities to all users across the enterprise. "Through its integration with Microsoft Business Intelligence, EO provides an advanced solution for integrating the planning process across functional organizations," Smith said. "By integrating EO along with the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack, River Logic offers a complete solution to end users as well as Microsoft Partners."
The integration of Enterprise Optimizer with Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 addresses key attributes and requirements for integrated business planning, River Logic said. These critical areas or attributes, as defined by Tim Payne, research director at Gartner, include: explicit process mapping, strong financial modeling, a holistic view of the supply chain, extensive optimization and business rule capability, collaboration, strong links to sales and operations planning (S&OP) and access to supporting analytics such as product performance management, which track the performance of products through the supply chain and drive back into the strategic evaluation process.
"By integrating EO with Microsoft Office, users and partners will increase performance and literally redefine the business landscape in terms of insight and collaboration," said Kevin Howe, chairman and CEO of River Logic.
