GlobeRanger Launches New DoD Supplier Solution Accelerator

iMotion platform builds on global deployment for Defense Logistics agency to support RFID compliance for key federal partners

Richardson, TX — December 6, 2006 — GlobeRanger, a provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) edge software, mobility and sensor-based applications for both enterprise and government customers, has launched its new DoD Supplier Solution Accelerator.

Built on its iMotion Edgeware platform, the offering meets the Department of Defense's (DoD) stringent requirements that all DoD manufacturers and suppliers subject to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) regulations be RFID-enabled by 2007, which also requires the submittal of advanced ship notices (ASN) through the electronic wide area work flow (WAWF) capability.

"iMotion is designed to quickly adapt to and integrate new technologies as they become available, simplifying the rapid development, deployment and management of edge solutions," said Michael Bigbee, vice president and general manager of Government and Aerospace for GlobeRanger. "As the core of our new DoD Supplier Solution Accelerator, it provides both our partners and end-users alike with technology flexibility for growth, while 'future-proofing' their investment."

GlobeRanger, in partnership with Psion Teklogix, has already demonstrated its ability to not only meet, but exceed, the DoD's demanding performance requirements through its successful iMotion deployment for the Defense Logistics Agency's expanding passive RFID infrastructure at multiple Defense Distribution Center (DDC) sites. iMotion's systems management and device monitoring capabilities enable DDC operations staff to monitor and manage equipment locally or centrally throughout DDC's facilities. DDC staff are also able to set and maintain optimum functionality across the entire network of devices, from passive RFID readers and motion sensors to light stacks, printers and handheld readers.

GlobeRanger’s new offering meets such DoD RFID supplier requirements as RFID tagging, electronic data exchange and the ASN/receiving transition.

The DoD Supplier Solution Accelerator streamlines the transition from today's barcode-based and manual processes to more automated RFID-enabled systems.
