Solectron, ATMI name operations veeps
Mesa, AZ — June 20, 2003 — Two supply chain executive appointments to report this week, with new faces at electronics manufacturing services provider Solectron and semiconductor industry player ATMI.
Marc Onetto, a senior GE executive with a background in manufacturing, supply chain management, information technology and quality, will join Milpitas, Calif.-based Solectron on Monday as executive vice president of worldwide operations, reporting to Mike Cannon, the company's president and CEO.
At Solectron, Onetto will be responsible for worldwide manufacturing, materials management, quality, new product introduction, information technology, logistics and repair operations. Onetto, 52, will be based at Solectron's corporate headquarters in Milpitas.
Onetto joins Solectron after a 15-year career at GE. Most recently, as vice president of GE's European operations, he was responsible for implementing shared services and other steps to improve efficiency across GE's businesses in Europe.
From 1992 through last year, he held several senior leadership positions involving global supply chain, global quality/Six Sigma and global process re-engineering in GE's Medical Systems business, where he also served as chief information officer.
Prior to GE, Onetto spent 12 years with Exxon in a number of assignments in supply operations, information systems and finance.
"At GE, I learned the fundamentals of a customer-centric supply chain: globalization, quality and flexibility," Onetto said. "Add a team of energized people and there is no limit to what can be achieved in operations."
