Spansion Taps PLM to Streamline Supply Chain Collaboration across Enterprise
Largest pure-play provider of flash memory solutions to deploy Agile product lifecycle management solution globally

San Jose, CA — December 20, 2006 — Flash memory company Spansion is set to deploy a product lifecycle management (PLM) solution from Agile Software across its entire enterprise to improve security and beef up visibility, management and collaboration of new and changing product record information across the extended supply chain.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Spansion, the largest pure-play provider of flash memory solutions, will deploy Agile PLM in several business units, as well as Agile Product Collaboration globally in its worldwide offices and manufacturing facilities.

Agile said that Product Collaboration will provide Spansion with a secure environment to manage and control manufacturers and their product content, in addition to synchronization of manufacturing systems with the current product record.

With enhanced visibility and management of site-specific product information across global operations and the extended supply network, Spansion will have access to critical product data, helping the company to rapidly introduce the highest quality products to market, increase product profitability, reduce costs and improve the quality of its products and services worldwide, Agile said.

Spansion chose Agile based, in part, on the company's semiconductor industry domain expertise, according to the solution provider.

"With such a large installed base and numerous partners across our global supply chain, we required a secure, collaborative PLM solution," says Michael Lipsey, vice president of business process integration with Spansion. "Agile's intuitive interface requires low maintenance and a simple integration scheme using one central depository."
