The market expansion services provider with a focus on Asia rolled out the global IT platform in Myanmar

DKSH

Yangon, MyanmarOct. 3, 2014DKSH is the first company in its sector in Myanmar to bring clients and customers the benefits of a global SAP platform. The Myanmar launch follows the successful 2013 DKSH SAP launch in Cambodia and the recently acquired operations in Macau.

“We continuously invest in our facilities and infrastructure in the region and in Myanmar. For example, our talented local staff was working with mobile technology since 2006 to drive in-store marketing and sales activities. The Myanmar SAP platform provides accurate outlet-level transactions on a monthly basis to our clients. Improved sales effectiveness and targeted marketing provides potential for competitive advantages in a frontier market like Myanmar,” said Preman, head of country management team, DKSH Myanmar.

DKSH entered Myanmar in 1995 and currently employs more than 1,500 experts to support companies from the consumer goods, healthcare and performance materials industries. With the head office in Yangon and branches in Mandalay, Myitkyinar, Taungyi and Mawlamyaing, DKSH serves more than 28,300 customers in Myanmar.

About 7,500 SAP and Business Intelligence users within DKSH are now connected to one of the largest SAP platforms in Asia, handling more than 1.1 million invoices per month. Clients can also align and interface their information technology (IT) systems with the DKSH network to receive valuable direct data for informed decision-making.

“The deployment of SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) across the entire Asia operations helps DKSH to meet its clients’ ambitious growth needs. We remain dedicated to supporting DKSH and its clients and customers to run their business better and simpler as they continue to expand in the region,” said Francois Lancon, president and managing director, SAP South East Asia.

DKSH’s global IT platform is centrally managed from its Corporate Shared Services Center in Malaysia. Run by nearly 200 IT specialists, the platform forms the reliable backbone for SAP and IT tools such as mobile customer relationship management, merchandising management, sales order management, logistics proof of delivery and inventory management. Consistently achieving system availability of 100 percent, DKSH provides clients peace of mind in business transactions and reporting.

DKSH’s global IT infrastructure is fully compliant to industry standards like GxP and follows IT best practices like COBIT. Dedicated disaster recovery systems at a back-up location ensure continuance of business processing capability in case of an unlikely event of major fallout in the primary location.
