Ann Arbor, Mich.Sept. 19, 2014CIMdata, Inc., a global product lifecycle management (PLM) strategic management consulting and research firm, announced that its president, Peter Bilello, will close PLM Road Map 2014 with a thought leadership presentation on the rapidly evolving trend of PLM “platformization.”

Bilello sees the platformization of PLM as the culmination of three trends: the evolution of personal productivity tools, the migration of discrete end-to-end lifecycle-management capabilities to the extended enterprise level, and greater cross-functional and extended enterprise collaboration. In his presentation, Bilello will explain how PLM platforms of the future will be the foundation upon which functional capabilities, data, and processes are enabled and executed—everything users need, when they need it, all in one place. The near-term goal is to enable the innovation essential to the creation of physical and digital products, systems, and services. In addition to discussing this rapidly evolving trend, the presentation will also provide a look into the future of PLM enablement.

Bilello has more than 25 years of experience in the development of business-enabling information technology (IT) solutions for research, engineering and manufacturing organizations worldwide. He participates in PLM analysis, selection, implementation and training; CAD/CAM/CAE/CIM implementation and management; synchronous and lean manufacturing consulting; software engineering; and general data management strategy development and support. He authored numerous papers and research reports on PLM and related topics, and his articles, commentaries, and perspectives appear in publications throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

PLM Road Map 2014 is the event for industry executives and PLM practitioners globally—providing independent education and a collaborative networking environment in which ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to the industry germinate and take root. It is a strategic conference focused on how companies are successfully employing PLM strategies, and enabling solutions to meet challenging product development, manufacturing and deployment issues. This year’s event will focus on PLM-enabled continuous product development and delivery for the automotive and transportation Industry and supply chain.
