CEVA Wins Ocean Transportation Project with Petrobras

New project for oversized cargo is an addendum to CEVA’s existing Petrobras contract

Sao Paulo, BrazilNov. 26, 2013CEVA Logistics, a global supply chain company, announced a new Oceanfreight project with Petrobras, the Brazil-based integrated oil and gas company.

The new project involves monthly shipments of “Christmas trees”—oversized cargo that is an assembly of valves, spools and fittings used to control the flow of oil or gas in a well—via Oceanfreight from the port of Tilbury in the United Kingdom to the Rio de Janeiro port in Brazil. The cargo is to be transported on a “roll on, roll off” type of ocean vessel and its reliable schedule enhances Petrobras’ engineering planning for equipment installation.

The project begins in September and goes through December 2014, and is to be managed by CEVA’s dedicated team for Petrobras.

Eduardo Carlini, CEVA’s director of energy and industrial sector director, Latin America, said: “CEVA has been the official freight management provider for the Petrobras Exploration and Production Division for the past four years. Based upon our track record of reliability and quality, we were provided this additional project opportunity.”
