Clark, N.J.—Oct. 18, 2013—CaroTrans, a global non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) and ocean freight consolidator, announced a direct Los Angeles to Suva, Fiji less than container load (LCL) export service with a 12-day transit, the fastest transit in the market, according to the company. This transit was reduced from between 32 and 36 days to 12. Expedited and bonded on forwarding from Suva, Fiji to main markets Nadi and Lautoka is offered. This service is now available.
For 25 years, CaroTrans has partnered with Williams & Gosling (W&G), a logistics service provider in Fiji with 300 staff and offices in all major markets, including Suva, Lautoka, Nadi and Ba. W&G offers secure and timely unpack services in a state-of-the-art container freight station in Wailekutu-Suva.
CaroTrans business units in Australia and New Zealand are service providers in Fiji. With the addition of this U.S. export service, CaroTrans can effectively expand services and reach in the Pacific Rim.
Effective as of January of 1993, Fiji, a country made up of 322 islands, became a signatory to the United States/Pacific Island Nations Joint Commercial Commission (JCC), which was created to promote commercial and economic relations between the United States and the independent Pacific Island nations, including Fiji. Resources and support for U.S. exporters is provided by JCC’s administrative department, the Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) in Honolulu, which supports the continued development of this cooperation.
