Honorees will be recognized at annual conference in October

Lombard, Ill.—Aug. 21, 2013—The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced the selection of Keiko Arai, leadership development program participant at Textron, Florian Schick, consultant at McKinsey & Co., and Amanda Tolhurst, senior manager, internal materials operations at Whirlpool Corp. as the recipients of its new Emerging Leader Award.

Arai, Schick, and Tolhurst will be recognized during the Opening Keynote Session at CSCMP's Annual Global Conference, Oct. 21, in Denver. The three winners will also participate in a panel session in the Young Professionals' Track held at the event. In addition, they will be featured in various organization publications, including CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly magazine, the CSCMP membership newsletter, and the Young Professionals e-bulletin.

"The future of our industry lies with today's young professionals who will be tomorrow's leaders," said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP president and chief executive officer. "It is important that we recognize the contributions of emerging talent and the positive impact they have on our profession today and will continue to have in the future."

The CSCMP Emerging Leader Award was created to recognize outstanding supply chain management and logistics professionals, age 30 and under, for their contributions to and future influence on these two industries.

CSCMP's Annual Global Conference is the largest of its kind for the supply chain management profession, and will put an intense focus on innovative solutions that attendees can take back to their companies and use. The event will host more than 3,000 practitioners, educators, and thought leaders from around the world. More than 100 educational sessions are planned.

Attendees who register before August 31 will receive $150 off the regular registration rates. More information and registration is available at cscmpconference.org.
