Messier-Bugatti-Dowty Selects Arkieva

Supply chain software provider helps aircraft landing gear company forecast and manage its S&OP process

Wilmington, Del.—July 16, 2012—Supply chain software provider Arkieva’s Europe channel partner Solventure signed a contract with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty to provide and implement the Arkieva Supply Chain Software solutions for forecasting and managing the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.

“One of our major challenges our supply chain faces is the integration of data related to our installed base, the evolution of various airlines, fleets of aircrafts and the forecasted life time of various types of brakes based on landing per overhaul and landing per year,” said Renaud Duval, Global Supply Chain Manager, Carbon Material, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (of the SAFRAN Group). “The Arkieva software implemented by Solventure will make it possible to create an accurate forecast for the number of deliveries and returns of heat packs for brakes we can expect each month.”

The software provides Messier-Bugatti-Dowty with the tools to integrate data from internal and external sources. In support of the demand and supply balancing process users can perform “what-if” scenarios to make the most informed supply chain decisions. All of the data needed for conducting executive S&OP meetings is available in one place—eliminating the errors and data disparities which result from multiple spreadsheets to make daily decisions.

“We are pleased to have an industry leader like Messier-Bugatti-Dowty select Arkieva,” said Sujit Singh, Chief Operating Officer, Arkieva. “During the past decade the number of active airplanes across the globe dramatically increased. To keep pace with this growth Messier-Bugatti-Dowty requires a well-defined S&OP process that is efficiently supported by data and stimulates cross-departmental collaboration. This specific forecasting and S&OP process requires a flexible and proven software tool like Arkieva's.”
