Zurich, Switzerland—June 20, 2012—Swissport International, a global aviation services group, appointed David Bermingham as Chief Executive Officer of Cargo for the United Kingdom. With his appointment to Swissport Cargo Services, Bermingham will continue the turn-around process of Swissport Cargo in the U.K. with an additional focus on service quality and customer satisfaction.
“The Management team at Swissport Cargo Services in the European region has performed a fantastic turnaround in recent years, significantly improving the overall quality of our products and as a result gaining new business from airline customers,” said John Batten, Executive Vice President Global Cargo for Swissport. “We need to see the same progress in the U.K. and with his proven skills and experience in the logistics industries, I am very pleased to have David join the Swissport Cargo team and look forward to building on this sound foundation with his leadership.”
Bermingham brings more than 25 years of international logistics and transport industry experience to his new role—17 years of which he worked with TNT in different management positions within their supply chain services. Most recently, he served as an interim Divisional Managing Director with TNT Post UK developing their e-commerce supply chain strategy.
