DHL Provides Supply Chain Services for Hugo Boss

Fashion brand maximizes its logistics operations in Mexico

Mexico City—March 23, 2012—To better improve its logistics operations in Mexico, German fashion brand Hugo Boss partnered with global logistics provider DHL Supply Chain to execute the warehousing, distribution and handling of its exclusive merchandise within the country.

On behalf of Hugo Boss, DHL Supply Chain evaluated supply chain needs and assumed management of warehouse operations. The new supply chain services are designed to maximize flexibility and ensure operational process reliability for the customer including inventory management, labeling and packing shipments according to the specifications of individual retailers. DHL Supply Chain will also manage the reverse logistics process to receive items at the end of a collection or season.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with Hugo Boss, a respected international fashion leader, to enhance their supply chain operations in Mexico,” said Daniel Pardo, Senior Vice President and Country Manager for DHL Supply Chain. “Together, we will maximize the company's service level to its customers and stores through logistics services that positively represent the respected Hugo Boss brand.”

Working with DHL Supply Chain will yield strong benefits including service-oriented solutions for merchandise on its way to stores, according to Laura Torres del Cueto, Country Manager of Hugo Boss Mexico. Enhanced security, inventory handling and care will ensure premium products arrive to end consumers aligned with the Hugo Boss image.

“Through the use of a third party such as DHL Supply Chain, we will be able to simplify our logistics,” stated Torres del Cueto. “We trust DHL Supply Chain with our warehousing and distribution operations so that we can focus on our areas of expertise—the design and creation of high-end fashion.”

In addition to the supply chain services provided to Hugo Boss by DHL Supply Chain, the customer also benefits from a solution that is seamlessly integrated with sister organizations, DHL Global Forwarding and DHL Express. Global Forwarding handles the shipment of inventory from its origin in Germany into Mexico, and Express manages some shipments from the distribution center to individual stores.

“We understand the fashion industry requires leading edge warehousing and distribution operations, employing robust security systems and impeccable merchandise handling,” said Miguel Paredes, Operations Director, Retail for DHL Supply Chain. “The usage of a third-party logistics partner increases flexibility, security and total inventory control while shifting administrative responsibilities to the provider.”
