Chicago—Dec. 20, 2011—Beginning in fall 2012, Loyola University Chicago’s Graduate School of Business will offer a Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MSSCM) for individuals looking to succeed in one of the world’s most in-demand job markets.
The MSSCM at Loyola marks the first supply chain management degree at an Illinois university accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Located in downtown Chicago, one of the most pivotal supply chain hubs in the U.S., Loyola’s program is uniquely positioned to equip students with the real-world experience needed to advance in supply chain management. That means learning how to synchronize various supply chain partners, use cutting-edge technology to monitor the movement of goods, negotiate complex purchasing contracts, and coordinate transportation across multiple modes. In doing so, Loyola students will be well prepared to meet the complex challenge of moving goods globally, both on time and on budget, while managing a sophisticated supply chain from start to finish.
“Many industry leaders predict a shortage of qualified supply chain management professionals in the coming years,” says Maciek Nowak, PhD, the program’s director. “With Loyola’s MSSCM, students will be ready to meet this growing demand.”
Loyola students will gain further expertise by considering the ethics involved in supply chain management. These lessons will come together with a capstone course providing an overarching analysis of the industry as well as its greater role in society.
