Intentia solution to provide operational control, reporting at sportswear manufacturer

Schaumburg, IL — February 2, 2006 — The sport of golf requires comfortable contemporary-styled apparel that doesn't impede a player's natural movement. And the business of manufacturing golfwear requires technology that doesn't impede but easily grows with its user while keeping close track of operational performance.

High-performance golf apparel maker Ashworth Inc. said it recently licensed Movex softwear applications from Intentia, a global enterprise solutions provider for the manufacturing, distribution and maintenance industries. Ashworth plans to use Movex for advanced planning, operational control, measurement and marketing purposes.

The software solution licensed by Ashworth includes the core Movex Business Engine, Demand Planner, Supply Chain Planner, eSales and Business Performance Warehouse applications.

"We needed a software solution for our business that was every bit as innovative as our golf-inspired sportswear," said Peter Case, Ashworth chief financial officer. "We specifically selected Movex because it would offer us better control of our increasingly complex operations, as well as provide us with a foundation for quickly meeting business reporting requirements."

Case said Ashworth expects the Movex solution to contribute to increased profitability by allowing the company to run a leaner operation with reduced inventory and more accurate forecasting. Use of Demand Planner will enable Ashworth to better anticipate seasonal market changes for fewer stock shortages and excess inventory.
