Solution expected to enable process manufacturers to satisfy FDA, DOD compliance mandates

Richardson, TX — February 28, 2006 — GlobeRanger, a provider of radio frequency identification (RFID), mobility and sensor-based software solutions, announced a partnership with Ross Systems, a global provider of enterprise software solutions and a division of CDC Software. Through the partnership, Ross will use GlobeRanger's iMotion Edgeware platform to deliver its RFID-to-Go solution to process manufacturers worldwide.

The companies said that RFID-to-Go, a RFID solution designed for food, pharmaceutical and other consumer products companies, can deployed to satisfy major retail, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Department of Defense (DOD) compliance mandates, as well as to improve product tracking, traceability and labor productivity.

Ross added that the electronic product code (EPC)-compliant solution is integrated with the Ross enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) applications to achieve optimum efficiency.

Specifically designed for companies in the process manufacturing industries, RFID-to-Go supports multiple business operations along manufacturing lines and within the distribution center. Built on the iMotion platform, RFID-to-Go controls, manages and monitors a variety of devices, including RFID readers, RFID I/O controllers, light stacks and photo eyes, enabling Ross to deliver a customized RFID solution to its clients.

GlobeRanger and Ross successfully implemented this solution for a leading health and beauty care company, which recently met Wal-Mart's RFID mandate requiring it to include electronic product codes on all pallets and cases. Tightly integrated with the customer's business processes and back-end systems, RFID-to-Go was quickly deployed, enabling the organization to maintain its high levels of distribution efficiencies.

GlobeRanger's iMotion platform gives us the flexibility to address any RFID challenge our customers have, said Lars Olsson, vice president of product management for Ross Systems. RFID-to-Go extends the data collection capabilities of our business applications, and provides EPC tracking and visibility amongst our customers' trading partners.

Ross said it selected GlobeRanger's iMotion platform after extensive evaluation and testing. The platform provides Ross with a standards-based foundation for building RFID solutions across its diverse process manufacturing customer base in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and other consumer products industries.

We are always looking to partner with innovative companies like Ross Systems that have in-depth knowledge in key vertical industries, said Larry Chandler, vice president of business development for GlobeRanger. The iMotion platform, coupled with Ross' expertise in process manufacturing, enables Ross to integrate with customers' existing systems while providing them with the ability to connect and orchestrate different types of sensory input/output.
