Companies comment on gains, efficiencies from Delivery Management suite implemented by value-added reseller working with Descartes
Waterloo, Ontario March 16, 2006 The Descartes Systems Group Inc., a provider of on-demand, software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery management solutions, announced this week that Optimize Logistic Solutions, its value-added reseller serving Spain, Portugal and Italy, has expanded its offering of solutions from Descartes' Delivery Management suite and implemented Descartes' solutions with several customers throughout Southern Europe.
Optimize Logistic Solutions, a longtime reseller of Descartes' Routing & Scheduling solutions, has expanded its relationship to represent additional products within the Descartes Delivery Management Suite, including Descartes Transportation Manager, Descartes Automated Vehicle Locator, Descartes Reporting Services and Descartes Route Planner.
Descartes commented that Optimize Logistic Solutions' domain expertise, customer service, and knowledge of the Spanish, Portuguese and Italian markets has helped it to become a leading provider of Descartes' solutions that address distribution, transportation and supply chain challenges.
Optimize Logistic Solutions' recent successes in expanding existing client relationships and generating new business across Southern Europe include helping Compania de Aguas Belnature SL, a Spanish bottled water distribution company, to implement Descartes' Routing & Scheduling solutions. According to Alvaro de Postestad, logistics manager, Aguas Belnature's distribution costs were reduced by almost 15 percent.
The firm also provided support for a global deployment of Descartes' Routing & Scheduling solutions by Rivoira spA, a majority-owned subsidiary of Praxair Inc., with an implementation in Italy. According to Massimo de Mola, Development Processes and Systems manager, the pilot installation for the project decreased driving distance by approximately 8 percent.
Finally, Optimize Logistic Solutions helped Cia de Bebidas Pepsico SL, the Spanish operations for the leading beverage company, implement Descartes' Sales & Territory Planner solution with its sales force. "It is the first time that we have a tool that allows us to centrally manage the sales routes of our salesmen," stated Fernando de Rio, Sales Capability manager. "Descartes' Sales & Territory Planner is becoming a strategic tool in helping our sales force reach their objectives."
