Heavy equipment distributor turns to BigMachines order management app to allow customers to create customized product options

Chicago, IL — March 29, 2006 — Heavy equipment distributor Kubota Tractor Corporation has selected an order management solution from BigMachines to create an online configurator and allow customers to create customized product options to assist in buying decisions.

Headquartered in Torrance, Calif., Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC), a subsidiary of Kubota Corporation, one of Japan's leading industrial manufacturers, is the leading marketer and distributor of under 40-horsepower tractors in the United States, offering more than 80 tractor models.

By integrating BigMachines' Lean Front-End (LFE) solution into its Web site, Kubota is looking to improve the overall user experience by enabling Web site visitors to customize their tractors online and generate their own quotation, as well as generate an inquiry to a local dealer should the customer request dealer information.

As a result, Kubota expects to drive more qualified leads to its network of authorized Kubota dealers throughout the United States.

"Improving our customers' online experience is of the utmost importance to KTC," said Larry Nenneman, senior director of sales and marketing of Kubota Tractor. "BigMachines' solid experience in similar industries along with their Lean Front-End functionality will help us to quickly achieve this goal."

Nenneman said that, for the first time, customers visiting the Kubota Web site will be able to configure, in real time, the tractor that uniquely fits their needs. "They will be able to view, in real-time, how selecting different options, for example, such as creep speed kits or wheels, will impact price," Nenneman said. "With one click they will be able to submit their configuration, which we will forward, at the customer's request, to a dealer for immediate follow-up."
