Technology provider community sees growing opportunity in data synchronization

Pottsville, PA — May 1, 2006 — B2B connectivity specialist EXTOL International has passed the tests for technology, interoperability and company capabilities to support and integrate customers' product item data and connect to the 1SYNC Data Pool.

As more industries and trading partners embrace data synchronization as a way to improve business, 1SYNC's Solution Partner Program provides a pool of technology providers to help companies adopt and utilize this technology. The program is intended to help take the guesswork out of implementing data synchronization, according to EXTOL.

"Early data synchronization initiatives were driven by very large retailers and suppliers, with limited focus on broader supply chain benefits," said Steve Rosen, vice president of marketing at EXTOL. "Since then, smaller suppliers have found that data synchronization can significantly reduce errors, eliminate manual steps, improve order accuracy and improve vendor scorecard rankings that influence shelf space, payment terms and other entitlements."

Rosen said that many EXTOL customers — including American Italian Pasta, Shop-VAC, Garan, Variform and Prime-Line — have reported internal benefits, beyond the intangible value of satisfying retailer mandates.
